Bedtime for Bonzo

I bought a bed for Boo... he avoids it like the plague.

I can't put my foot rest up on the recliner or he comes there to sleep.. so I sit without it.. I watch him go from one place to another to find the right spot to nap and he keeps moving.. he will even look IN the bed and then walk around it until finally he gives in and crawls in! lol... the minute I move though he is up and doing it all over again lol... silly boy!

Speaking of sleeping I just finished another afghan... I used the brand of yarn that I used to use long ago it's stiff compared to other yarns!  Of course the other yarns a quite a bit more expensive too.. oh well.. this is the newest one I tried.

It's a rainy day here in Florida today.  But the temps will be in the upper 70's.  I like it best when I do not need either my heat or air conditioner and today will be one of those days!

Both of the afghans that we use all of the time in the living room and drag around are made from Red Heart because it's one of the best threads for something that's going to take a beating :) The afghans I make to give to friends (and the next one I make for me) I usually use Simply Soft because it is soooo soft and nice. Simply Soft (by Caron) is a little more expensive, but not much and it is a really nice thread. I rarely use any of the 'fancy' threads cause 1. I can't afford them (especially when making an afghan the size to fit a bed), and 2. I want people to -use- the afghans and not be worried about hurting the thread.

LOVE Boo sleeping in his bed. Too cute. Nyx always wants to be sleeping -on- me, which drives me nuts. We compromised. She gets up right next to me and puts her head between my arm and the computer on my left side. I can still surf and type and she gets to touch me ;)

Ooops... I also wanted to say how pretty that afghan is. MUCH more intricate than most of the ones I do. I choose my patterns for simplicity so that I can crochet and watch TV. My favorite kid of project has a very repititious pattern. My ripple has two rows that repeat over and over till you get to the size you want, and the strip afghan I like to do has a center that you work up and then a row around that and then the strips are crocheted together. Easy Peasy. I used to do granny squares when I was younger, but I don't care for the putting them together part. I used to make up the squares for an afghan and my grandmother would put them together and then we would give the afghan as a gift from both of us. One of the many reasons I miss her. :)

JJ: yeah I like the simply soft!! this pattern wasn't so bad after the first 4 squares (big squares) I didn 't have to look at the pattern anymore.. many patterns look more difficult then they really are..and then there are the ones that ARE difficult LOL.. many .. any I make are not difficult me on that!!! I do them with the tv on too!

Oooh. Our cats have a bed that looks much like the one you got BooBoo. They love it. (And fit so snugly.) Maybe BooBoo just needs to learn it's a comfy thing?

And that afghan is gorgeous. (Not that I've ever seen you make one that wasn't.)

I hope Boo adjusts to his bed soon. My dog has one just like it!

That's a lovely afghan. I really like the cutwork on it.

That is one cute bed for your cat. The stray I have been feeding has decided that one of my patio chairs makes for a nice bed.

That is one beautiful afgan. You do fantastic work woman. Maybe I will comission you to make one for me someday. Sad to say, I don't have an afgan.

Watched the special features on my DVD of Star Trek last night. Karl looked yummy. He seems like a really pleasant person. Vala3

I love the Boo photo. Seems like typical cat behavior! It does look like a comfy bed, though, so maybe he'll get used to it.

That's a lovely afghan! I marvel at anyone who can crochet something like that. I don't think I'd have the patience.

It's just started raining here in Southern California too. The weatherman says it's the beginning of a weeklong drencher. Fortunately, I'm well stocked with food!

Boo looks so cute in the bed. Same that he don't use it so you can use your footrest. That Afghan is beautiful. Makes me think of the designs and material people used to use on doilies. Helen
