Can an Author and a Wizard be Mentioned in the Same Post?

Not to long ago Chris did a post and mentioned an up and coming author of Young Adults named J. Scott Savage.
I took it upon myself to check him out. *grin* I've been reading of his upcoming book release and the trials and tribulations along the way. Veeeerrrrry Interesting!
Recently, I also found out that J. Scott Savage just happened to have (at one point in his life) moved to New Providence NJ where I was born and raised! While he lived there he mentioned using the town library quite a bit and it brought back a rush of memories.
The town was small. The Library was small. But ya know what?.. it was a cool little library!
Now,...
1) having discovered this young man via Chris,
2) and having interest in his upcoming book,
3) and having found out he even went to MY high school.. how could I not try to help promote this guy??!! So here goes.......

Author: J. Scott Savage
YA Fantasy Fiction
J Scott Savage : is an author of a YA Fantasy Fiction book, called Farworld-Water, published by Shadow Mountain, that will be coming out September of 2008.
J Scott Savage: is also preparing for a blog tour that will run during the summer, July and August.
J Scott Savage: is offering a great deal for anyone who likes YA Fantasy and would like to obtain a FREE ARC,of his book! In payment all you need to do is review it on your blog! (can't ask for a much better deal than that!)
J Scott Savage: has his own blog located HERE.

I think you should visit his blog and consider the chance to get yourself an ARC copy of his book, and even a chance to interview the author!
Did I mention his name is J. Scott Savage? Oh yeah, heh.. guess I sorta did!

Having this happen in the middle of a Fantasy Book Challenge should be a no brainer!!... have at it! Click the link and check him out!

Later: same day..

Remember the old ad that said, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!"
... I sorta felt that way this morning. Well.. I didn't "eat" anything.. but TNT ran LOTR back to back yesterday.... and I actually watched ALL OF IT! Gads, I can't believe I watched the whole thing!!
It's not like I don't own the LOTR dvd's .. I do! So then why does it (and other movies I own) become so tempting that I have to watch them then and there? Doh.. can you say dingbat? I will never understand why I watch movies on tv (with commercials!) when I have the movie to watch any time I want (without commercials!).

My favorite of the three movies will always be the first one.... more specifically, the scene under the mountain when Gandalf fights the Balrog.

"You shall not pass!"..

Wow! .. Wow!.... Such a great actor!!!
I always find myself thinking the same thing after this scene (and after I finish crying)... as much as I love him, I would not want to be one who has to face a ticked off Gandalf ! lol.

I guess I didn't realize it was time for an Ian McKellan fix.. or a Gandalf fix. But I sure enjoyed the movies back to back like that (even if it did take up my entire day!).

How cool is that? Such an interesting connection you have with this author. Makes perfect sense that you would be moved to promote him.

And what a lovely day, watching LOTR. A year ago last November was the first time we spent the whole day watching all 3 extended editions in a row. That was a loooooong day as far as trying not to be sleepy in our pj's and comfy chairs, but it was a glorious day and is one of my favorite adult family memories.

I have always meant to watch all of LotR back to back, but for some reasons I've yet to do it. It certainly is a good way to spend a day.

I'll check out J. Scott Savage's website now!

I'm excited about Savage's book! I really hope that I enjoy it...everything else from Shadow Mountain seems to be good, so I'm sure that will be too.

I watched all three on TNT too :p Same as you...I'm thinking, "I could just pop the DVDs in" but no...I sat through commercials instead! LOL...the things we do!

Yeah, I do that a lot too. I haven't watched all the LotRs movies back to back but will often watch a movie on TV that I have on dvd. Makes no sense! And my favourite LotRs movie/book is also the first one. All to do with the setting out on a journey I think and that one is not as dark as the last two. Now I'm feeling the urge to watch it again. *g*

Carl: I hope some of your readers who like YA books check him out!

The weirdest thing happens when you watch a trilogy all at once...you begin to feel like it's real !

Nymeth: LOTR is Loooooong back to back lol

Chris: yes, I am looking forward to his book too! I hope a few others offer to help him out.

It made for a pretty long day of movies! lol, I amaze myself when I do things like that without falling asleep or just walking away at some point.. but noooooooo couldn't do that!

Cath: well.. i love Gandalf.. and i love Gandalf the Gray best of all for some reason.. but you are right, the movies just get darker and darker as they go along... but I also adore Andy Serkis so I find myself really watching Gollums expressions ya know?! lol
