I've Got to Stop Reading Book Blogs (yeahrightsure!)
I suspect this is the last "porn" for some time. And there's some blame among them!!
I'm handing out points! (sorry no Oscars or Emmy's!)..
For The Sea Trolls and The Land of Silver Apples (since they are a series), the Points go to two people: Darla d & Fuzzycricket. Just what I needed another series! I'm glad at least 2 books are out but geeezzzz maurice!
And two get blamed for Godmother: The Secret Cinderella Story too: they would be Kailana and Stephanie! Now generally, I am not a lover or "retold fairy tales" but too many reviews on this one sound really good. When I read that there was a tie-in of the tale of The Cottingley Fairies, (a true story of two cousins in 1917 England who took photographs of themselves with fairies in their garden.) well, that did it! I love the old movie out about the Cottingley Fairies so, hopefully this will give me some of that too.
(thanks ladies!)
The Lightening Key is one of those books I mentioned that I have been reading the series. (so the blame is on me!) Got to love the covers to this series of books by Jon Berkeley. The previous books are: The Palace of Laughter & The Tigers Egg. This particular group of books is a Julie Andrews Collection and the cover art on all of them has been Brandon Dorman.
The Thirteenth Child is my fault too.. it's by Patricia C Wrede. Ms. Wrede was co-author to a trilogy (along with Caroline Stevermer) that I very much enjoyed: Sorcery and Cecelia, The Grand Tour, and the Mislaid Magician. And this book of hers sounded really good (and I'm betting it will be a series!)
Eff was born a thirteenth child. Her twin brother, Lan, is the seventh son of a seventh son.
This means he's supposed to possess amazing talent... and she's supposed to bring doom to everyone around her. Undeterred, her family moves to the frontier, where her father will be a professor of magic at a school perilously close to the magical divide that protects settlers from the beasts of the wilderness.
Eff and Lan do not know what awaits them in such an unknown place. There are steam dragons that hover in the sky, and strange creatures that could undermine the homesteaders very existence. Eff is allowed to learn magic with the other students... but there's always the threat of it going horribly wrong. As a thirteenth child, Eff always feels one short step away from complete ruin.
As Eff and Lan grow older, they face challenges they never could have dreamed of. And then their magic is put to the test in a standoff that will alter their lives forever.
Yep,.. The Thirteenth Child is my own choosing... it just sounds like something I will really enjoy! (I hope.. I hope) However.. if anyone else wants the points for these books, just let me know!

Seems like I need to work a bit harder on this points thing - I'm not even on the list yet! Nice haul though, some great looking books there.
Not a problem...I'm always happy to add to someone else's TBR pile!! Hope you enjoy Godmother as much as I did!
Cath: don't do me any favors! lol.. you would have 6 right off the bat for the Hollow Kingdom trilogy and pushing me to the Garth Nix Sabiel series but those all happened before I started doing points.. and now I will be cutting back buying so points will be few.. i love the blame game though lol..
Stephanie: so far I love it!!!!
This cracks me up! What a fun way to sum up the whole crazy book blog thing-the sharing of books and getting others hooked on them, LOL!
The only thing worse than getting a person interested in a book, is getting them interested in a book that's in a series. Then you not only have 1 more book to add to the TBR pile, but at least two.
Oh! And thanks for the points! I like points. *grin*
Now I'm off to track down The Thirteenth Child. To add to my current stack of 7 books.
that cats tongue mesmerizes me
fuzzycricket: most welcome for the point.. i should send you the bill ! hahahaha.. yeah all this blame stuff is fun!
Pam: well ya know I have to "dink" around in the paint program and animate things sometimes!
Ooooh, The Thirteenth Child sounds so good!! Like I need another book :p I swear, one day I'm going to read The Wednesday Tales for the covers if not for anything else! I love Brandon Dorman's stuff. Enjoy your new books!
Well, who can blame you. All of those sound so good!
Chris: I really think a group of us needs to get together and open a book store! lol In a secondary room we will show movies that were made from books.. sound good?
Nymeth: sometimes I wonder if there isn't a demon hovering over us to spend more money on books! lol
The Thirteenth Child does sound great and I love the cover. Can't blame you for picking it up. Nice to see your book porn!
carl: yeah it does sound good.. but it also sounds like "book # 1" of a series!! (can you hear me groaning??)
oh how the tbr pile grows when you have great friends to recommend books to you!
WEll, when I pick up the Thirteenth Child, you will get points, Pat! Because now I want it....I've read the Sorcery & Cecilia first two books and love them. Bad blogger! :-D
I hope you enjoy Godmother! I had to pause on it because of library books, but I hope to get back to it very soon!
Lol, enjoy your new books!
After looking at this list, I think I can blame you! As if I don't have enough in my pile of books.... :0
