Slow Going

As I try to read some of my normal blogs I noticed many are doing a February wrap up..  mine is not too good even from the beginning of January... and I haven't finished book 11, that one has been sitting for two weeks as I can't seem to even want to read.  I will attempt a few pages today.  Maybe the fact that All the Weyrs of Pern is a reread and I don't have to concentrate too hard it will let me do some reading.

It's snowing today.. it's the most snow we've had at one time all winter, though it's not real deep right now, it's expected to snow until this afternoon.

I've been thinking of you quite a bit. One thing, I recently joined AARP and sent in a questionnaire about their insurance. A local man called me and told me in this county, as a member of AARP, I can get better medical insurance ABSOLUTELY FREE with AARP than I do through Cliff's employer, once I'm 65. Which is in July. So I can take myself off Cliff's insurance than and he'll have a much bigger paycheck.

I've also been wondering if there's some sort of senior housing available to you where rent is based on income, no matter HOW low the income may be.

Hey, Pat! Had a couple of busy days but will see if you're around on AIM this afternoon. Got to return some books to the library first.

Eleven books is way better than me - I've only just finished my fifth book. Which is terrible! I know I've had other stuff on but still...

Nice to see you posting.

hi Donna: I don't know about the senior housing .. i'm still having difficulty keeping my mind on what needs to be done... but it is on the list of things to look into!

Cath: but this is from January and February! I had just begun the Pern book when david died.. tried to read a little today.. will try more later..not sure anything is sinking in..plus had to shovel the walk to the house.. got some snow..not as bad as many areas though.

It's perfectly understandable that you've been having a tough time reading. I hope you find yourself getting lost in the pages today.

I have to admit I can't stop thinking about you, Pat, and hoping things are getting better. I was so glad to see your post today. Please keep us up to date when you can. There's so many of us out here who care about you!

Hey Pat! Still thinking of you all the time over here. I have to say that I'm in love with your picture for this years Books Read!! I just went and picked up a new copy of Dragonquest today so that I'll actually read it! This one has print that's not as small. And I'd say your reading is pretty good so far! I know what you mean though...

It's so good to see you posting. Like the others, I keep thinking about you and wonder how you're doing. And it's really no wonder you haven't been able to read much.

You have been on my mind a lot today also. I have sent up several prayers for you. I hope you find some much needed help soon. Maybe you can find some senior housing somewhere close to some grocery stores and drug stores, that way you could walk to get what you need. I see a senior that walks a short distance to a local grocery store pulling one of those carts with wheels with her groceries in it.

debi: thank you.. things remain the same right now.. i break down way too much, still not much sleep at night and i just can't seem to "get on track" trying to make some notes for when I do though.

Chris: I am proud !! I want you to love those books so bad!

nymeth: did a little reading today..and a little skimming since it's a reread. I think I'd be lost in a book I haven't read yet.

kelly: thanks Kell.. i am trying to read some blogs a bit more

Hi Helen: yeah I did that myself when I lived in CA.. getting to doctors and food shopping are just two of many problems I will have.

You've been through a lot in the last few months. It has to be unbelievably tough to deal with all the questions and grief. I'll keep you in my meditations, especially that you sleep, that's crucial for recovery, physical and emotional.

Hi Pat, many of my thoughts have been with you lately as well.
Great loss tends to make you go through the motions of life, but not be able to truly live it.
Sending lots of good feelings your way, and prayers.

HI Pat, thank you for posting, and I wondered how much snow you were getting! we missed it here in Ottawa, just got awful cold, my sister in New Brunswick got the snow though. As for your books read, I think you still managed to read more than I did last month!!!! That you can't read too much now is understandable. I hope you are able to find a good book to lose yourself in for a while, soon. hugs and take care of yourself.

I'm with Chris too, I love that dragon!
