Susan Boyle

Ok.. so...

Who doesn't know who Susan Boyle is?   Who has not heard this woman sing?

Even if you have seen her sing but could use a feel good moment..... watch it again here.  (I can't watch this without crying!  I am so excited for this lady I can't tell you!  What a wake up lesson to many!)

Know this about me.. I do not watch American Idol.  I'm just not "into it".. I have, like everyone, seen commercials for it.  But this lady, trying out for Idol in England made the NEWS!  And let me tell you... if you want to feel good for someone.. watch this video on youtube.  With all my depression.  With all my crying.  This made me smile.  This made me feel good.  (then I cried happy tears for her).

Funny but with all the furore this created I still haven't watched this again since we actually saw it on TV last Saturday. It blew me away then so it was nice to rewatch it and feel those same feelings of amazement and wonder. And it was so good to see the pre-judging audience and judges whacked around the head for once. We cried too I have to admit. I hope she goes a long, long way. All power to the elbow of those of us who aren't as young as we used to be and not, and never have been, fully paid up members of The Beautiful People club.

It's gorgeous, isn't it? She has such an amazing voice, but what really-really makes the clip for me is seeing the judges and the audience getting such a wake-up call.

Okay, now I've got the tears running down my face. I saw just a tiny clip on the news, but hadn't seen that whole thing before. Thank you so much for the link, Pat!

Well, I haven't watched television in quite some time, so I guess I was the only one in the world who had not seen the clip. Thank you so very much for bringing it to my attention. What a great, inspirational way to start the day!!

Cath: you know it! the horrible thing is that we all do it to a degree, but for "celebrity", in America more than England.. looks will win over talent..sad but true.

libritouches: I can't tell you how many times I've watched this clip!! I cry each time and I smile each time!

Debi: yeah.. a feeling that sometimes things are made right for a change. I hope she wins!

molly: actually you aren't missing much by not watching tv.. but this was one of those "shouldn't miss moments"... ocassionally even the news gets it right!

Think this will convince people to stop judging people by things so trival as looks? Wishful thinking, I know.

She is truly blessed. I hope she wins.

The only problem I see with her is that the news programs have just used up her 15 minutes too soon.

I hope she gets past all the "over" coverage.

I loved her.

Our news covered it here, the day after. And I have to admit I cried, too, when she sang and it was so glorious, her voice. I love Cath commenting on the 'paid up member of the Beautiful people club' of which none of us are, because Susan Boyle put the whole tv and crowd and judges on their ear! (well, some bloggers might be, but I never was.) Hurray! Plus, she's named Susan, which is a great name!!! lol

cj: heck no cj..but it is a slap in the face reminder! and it is done less often when "reminded"!

Pam: I hope we hear more of her singing and what the results are from all of it. even if she doesn't win, the look in Simons face looked as if HE would offer to be her manager like he did with El Divo.

Susan: if everyone belonged to the beautiful people club there would be no need of a club eh? oh well we'll never know lol

I found out what all the fuss was about yesterday. Just wanted to smack some of those nasty audience members (including Simon) before she started singing but wow, oh wow did she blow them all away!

I just saw the clip two days ago and was totally blown away. Like Tink, I wanted to smack some of those nasty people in the audience. I couldn't believe they were rolling their eyes before she'd even begun to sing, but I certainly think her incredible skill and talent served as a lesson in not judging the book by the cover. I will buy an album, if she makes one. I wish she'd hurry up and do it right now, in fact.

Tink: yes she did!! I was glad they ate crow so quickly and showed that they liked what she did.

Bookfool: yes, I wanted to smack them all! Of course had she been horrible they would have been proven right which is scary because talent know no bounds..

My wife came home the other night and wanted to show me this clip and I was not thrilled about it as I personally hate these shows...the second she opened her mouth to sing, I started crying. Les Miz is my favorite musical and this is such a powerful song anyway, even more so when it is sung so very well. So happy for her!

I didn't see this on Tv but on my computer. I was like everyone else. What a surprise she was. I loved hearing her sing and have listened to her since just to enjoy hearing her. Hugs, Helen
