...and in the News

Well.. for anyone who doesn't watch the Emmy's.. lol It was a lively night!

Two (count them TWO) recipients got "bleeped"!!

Katherine Heigl from Grey's Anatomy was so shocked at winning that when the camera went on her to see her expression of the win, you could see (but definitely not HEAR) her mouth "oh shit!" LOL.. Personally, I thought that was great! I mean, she really didn't expect to win! Give her a break! I doubt that if it were me, I'd be saying.. "oh.. pooh! I didn't write a thank you speech" Nope I surely wouldn't have those words on my lips! "oh shit".. yep.. that's what I'd be thinking alright! lol!

Then there was Sally Field. Great actress! (to this day Sybil remains a movie that just blows me away when I see it!)

(Mike Blake, Reuters )

Audiences will never know if Sally Field's acceptance of her best actress in a drama Emmy for 'Brothers and Sisters' surpasses her famous Oscar speech because censors blacked it out.

Sally dedicated her Emmy to "mothers". Mothers who wait for their children to come home from harms way... and from war. She got a big applause and then continued to say: "And, let's face it, if the mothers ruled the war, there would be no (expletive) wars in the first place," But as we all know.. that got "bleeped" ..heh.

Though I agree that personal feelings such as that (no matter how much I may agree!) shouldn't be announced on major television without it being a show that is made for such a discussion... she did express the feelings of mother's of those that have been and are being sent to war.

And in other news....

(excuse me while I laugh)

There's O J Simpson... *sigh*

AP

An apparent audiotape of a standoff with O.J. Simpson during an alleged robbery at a Las Vegas casino begins with the ex-NFL star demanding, "Don't let nobody out this room. ... Think you can steal my (expletive) and sell it?" Simpson is behind bars without bail and faces multiple charges.

Maybe this time justice will prevail?

If only OJ could get life in prison for this...Someone needs to just put that man away and throw away the key!

I missed the Emmy's and it sounds like I missed a good one! I love Katherine Heigl, she was on Roswell which still remains one of my favorite TV shows ever made. She played an alien named Izzy....she seems to like characters with that name! She's such a great actress and she's beautiful ;) Glad to hear she won!

I love Sally Field-- no matter what opinion she expresses.

Oh and O.J. I put a post on my "spare parts" blog about him. *sigh* Maybe he'll finally go to jail. We can but hope.

Visiting from Naomi's... like your blog. :)

Ya know, our local news showed the clip from Sally's speech... she said "G*d D*amn" war. Much tamer than most people probably would have imagined.

They also bleeped a joke in the intro about Kelsey Grammer/Frasier. I am really curious what THAT was about. ;)

We thought the show was entertaining this year.

omg, you guys have some crazy sensors! I watched this from Canada and it was not bleeped at all! Sorry I can't help on the Kelsey Grammer joke. I know Ray Ramano said something later about him sleeping with his wife (as he is in a tv show with the woman from Everybody Loves Raymond) but I can't remember what it said in the intro. Sally Field also was heard, and it was a great acceptance speech. The Sopranos man said something similar at the end of the show. :)

Chris: I like Katherine too, she's great on Grey's Anatomy!

SQT:.. yep I've always liked Sally Field !..she really only expressed what every mother with a child off to war feels!

Thanks and Welcome Shephard! I love naomi and her blog!! Yes, they did their fair share of bleeping this year! hahaha.. they didn't have to though.. i bet it got good ratings from it all!

Poor old O.J....not! I hope he gets to stay behind bars for a long, long time...like for the rest of his life!

I love "Brothers & Sisters"...and I love "Grey's Anatomy"...both wonderful shows with deserving actors...I just wish somewhere in there our Aussie Rachel Griffiths could have received an award too for her part in "Brothers & Sisters". She is great. I loved "Six Feet Under"...it was a great show, too and she was excellent in it.

I found it quite surprising that they did bleep those exclamations. We must be a bit more tolerant or free here in Australia with our television as those natural reactions wouldn't have been bleeped.

Oj, Oj, Oj.
Idiot.

And Brothers and Sisters is a great show. She deserved that emmy. I almost cried when her son told her that he was going back to Iraq.

whew.

Lee: Canada heard our bleeps too! Many talk shows and news type shows all said it was the use of the word God "in vain".. and I guess they are right.. around here someone always finds something to gripe about.

kiyotoe:I think he should have titled his book, "how I got away with it"...sorry. Betting he gets away from this one too..they are already talking like there isn't a strong case. But if it was a non celeb... cha!
