Product Description
Welcome to the Théâtre Illuminata, where the actors of every play ever written can be found behind the curtain. They were born to play their parts, and are bound to the Théâtre by The Book—an ancient and magical tome of scripts. Bertie is not one of them, but they are her family—and she is about to lose them all and the only home she has ever known.
*sigh* I had high hopes for this book. Everything I read about it made it sound like it was right up my alley and I would really enjoy it.
Well.. lets just say it will get a second chance but I don't know when.
I read 55 pages and nothing at all was grabbing me. Nothing was making me want to pick it back up. I even skipped ahead a little and read a chapter thinking that it may make me want to know what happened.. but nada.
I love the cover to death and like I said, really thought this would be something that I'd really like.. I won't tell anyone "don't bother" because too many of us have different tastes, and often how a book makes us feel about it also deals with how we feel and the moods we are in when we read them.
I guess I wasn't in the right mood. Maybe next time.
A little later today I will post some Pond Photo's..

I've done that. Bought a book with high expectations and then not been able to get into it. Sometimes if I put it away and come back to it later I end up enjoying it... sometimes not ;p
JJ: I think we all have..but it still always surprises me when it happens.
It's disappointing isn't it when you have high hopes for a book and it just doesn't float your boat? What a shame.
cath: yeah it is..i'm just glad it doesn't happen often!
I love the cover of this one, but I would swear I read something similar to your reaction on another blog recently. Not sure where.
Oh no, I am going to be reading this soon. I thought it would be right up my alley, but if you didn't like it that kind of worries me...
Carl: oh really?! that almost makes me feel better. It was very Blah and didn't seem to be moving along at all, even when I jumped ahead in hopes something there would make me want to read to see what happened.. oh well. we can't win them all. I think it's the first book this year that I stopped reading, so thats good.
Kelly: I must have read a number of reviews saying how good this was so the odds are you may like it..and maybe since now you will expect less it will be even better ?!
It's a shame this didn't live up to your expectations. I do fancy reading this but am holding out for a paperback copy.
