Three Years Ago
Today is October 5th.
That means that I've been journaling/ blogging for a full 3 years now.
Who'da thunk? Not me, that's for sure!
For reasons listed in the lower posts, I've been going thru my archives alot. It's amazing what when thru my head 3 years ago...
For instance... 3 years ago I posted something about my autograph collection...
...and showed these few photo's I took.. A few of the people in these photo's who were still alive have passed on since then. It's incredible how fast we loose them.
Three years ago I posted about my first love, when I was but 10 yrs old. A movie actor named Turhan Bey...
... he was supposed to marry me when I got older and protect me like he protected Maria Montez in Ali Baba & the Forty Thieves.
Well.. I sure got older.. but he never married me! *sigh*
Three years ago I remembered The Mickey Mouse Club and especially watching "Spin and Marty"!.. (at this point i was in love with "Marty" played by David Stollery)
(David Stollery. Harry Carey Jr. Tim Considine)
... David Stollery didn't marry me either. (I didn't score well in this department!) But I did meet him and got a big hug from him!
Three years ago I was remembering doing volunteer work for Tippi Hedren at Shambala Preserve when I lived in California..
Daisy Cougar was my personal favorite animal there.
And 3 years ago I remembered someone I miss very much, my friend, DeForest Kelley. Actually, I remembered him several times.. in several posts.. heh.
(convention pics I took)
(DeForest fooling his audience and telling them I was Lily Tomlin... De loved a good joke.
(at a picnic at the house I lived in )
Three years ago today... I started all that... never realizing that it would be continued for so long. My blog has changed over the years. Now, it's mostly about the books I read. But I still put in some memories, and I also write about other things I enjoy, like old movies and autograph shows.
It's been a lot of work, but fun at the same time.
It was raining when I began this post... now the sun is out... I guess it's going to be a good Anniversary day after all.

Happy three year anniversary, Pat! I didn't know you three years ago but I do now and am so pleased you came into my life. In fact, I think the first anniversary of me knowing you is around about now. Likely as not it was something to do with last year's RIP challenge that introduced us. The wonderful power of the internet. :-)
Hi Cath: oh i'm sure it's been thru Carl's challenges that we met ! but time goes by so darn fast... as i go thru my archives I can't believe it's 3 years ago!
3 years of wonderful, precious memories! Happy Blog Anniversary dear friend. I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to read you and get to know you this past year. Heres to many, many more memories and journaling days ahead. (Hugs)Indigo
I seriously love your autograph collection. I meant to ask last time you talked about it, do you have Dick Van Dyke's autograph? I would love to meet him someday. Lol, I wanted to marry Tom Petty when I grew up :o) I grew out of my obsession but he's still my favorite singer!
I remember seeing Spin and Marty when we had the Disney Channel while I was a kid. I would stay up really, really late just to watch the old Disney stuff in black and white like this and Zorro.
What I wouldn't give to be able to touch a cougar *sigh* They're actually my mom's favorite animal (I personally prefer tigers though).
I love your photos, I love your book and movie posts, and I love your blog. HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY!!!!
hi Indigo.. hard to believe how time flies ..seems I just began and here it is 3 yrs later!
Hi Tink: no, afraid I don't have dick van dyke, though I've always liked him. lol it's funny how our young loves don't come to pass lol...
I love the tigers too but Daisy was a special cougar. Brought there when only about 6 months old she had a leasion on her brain from "cat fever" because the owner never got her shots.. so each time she tried to run or romp she would trip over her own feet.. but she purred and purred ..she didn't know she wasn't supposed to fall down!
I checked, Pat, and it was the 13th. Sept. when you first left a comment on my blog. It was about The Book of Lost Things by John Connelly. I'm not sure if I commented on your blog before that or not but, whatever, it seems that Carl's second RIP challenge introduced us. I just sent you an e.mail, btw...
Cath: my response looks like i said we met 3 yrs ago ..but I meant looking back it's hard to believe my blog is 3 yrs old! sheesh.. your email just arrived!
Happy blogiversary Pat!!!!! I feel like I've been reading your blog since the beginning, though I haven't :p It's probably been about a year and a half, yet all of these stories were so familiar. I've loved getting to know you over these past months and you've truly become one of my best friends around here. I hope you keep blogging for years to come :)
Congratulations!!!!! I actually found your blog through your header. I was looking for pics of Gandalf...lol I've been hooked ever since. When it comes to interests, we seem to share them in abundance :D
HI Chris.. 3 yrs and in 4 more posts it will be 1,000 posts!
animewookie: that's funny how you found my blog. Books and movies seem to be the biggest overall entertainment people have, so it's all normal lol
Pat, I got your note that my e.mail didn't arrive after all and have resent it - just a couple of minutes ago. Let me know if it still doesn't arrive and I'll send it via my Yahoo address.
Happy 3 year anniversary!!! Time does indeed fly and you have made the most of your time, posting A Ton! But not just that, your posts are fun and insightful and are always a joy to read. I especially enjoy your thoughts on actors and actresses who have become a part of my life through either things I viewed as a child, like Star Trek and others..like classic films...that I have grown fond of as an adult. Thanks for all you do and for being such a gung-ho, upbeat participant in the many challenges and contests that I host. You are an inspiration!
cath: still no email
carl: thanks carl. i'm not much of a writer but do love to tinker with pics and use them, as you know well.. but now trying to replace them.. makes me sorry I like pictures so much! Just because I can't sit and watch them disappear I am replacing some (from the beginning).. hours at a time.. my neck hurts , my back is horrid huring and my butt is dead. happy anniversary to me!
Happy Bloggiversary. Sorry to hear about the aol predicament. I think it is a good lesson for all of us - we need to back-up our blog posts no matter what.
And as for autographs. I have a total of 3 - one of which is Paul Newman...in ballpoint pen. I loved it before but now it will always be cherished. (the other is Robert Redford that was stamped, a bummer)
